Second Annual GLA Charity Golf Day
East Geelong Golf Club

The GLA is excited to invite you to the second annual GLA Charity Golf Day!
This year the proceeds will be going to support Lazaraus Community Centre in Geelong, for more information on Lazarus's great impact in our community, please click here.
The GLA Charity Golf Day will once again be held at the beautiful East Geelong Golf Course. Event details as follows:
Date: Friday 24 May 2024
Arrival and tee off: Players must arrive for registration at 1pm, with a shotgun start at 1.30pm
Tickets (p/person): $45 for members and $50 for non-members, with ticket sales closing COB Friday 10 May 2024
Ticket prices include grazing boards and a limited bar tab.
The day's golf will be played over 9 holes, in 4 person ambrose teams. Whilst full teams are welcome, if you would like to participate and do not have a full team, players are encouraged to purchase a ticket and will then be placed in teams for the competition.
The GLA Charity Golf Day is a truly inclusive event and golfers of all abilities (or none!) are welcome. Handicaps are not in play for this event.
In addition to the major prize of best performing team, there will be prizes for best performing mixed team, longest drive competition (with both men and women competitions), and nearest the pin competition.

Geelong Law Association - End of Year Dinner - Friday 24 November 2023

The GLA Committee are pleased to announce this year’s annual dinner will be held at 1915 Restaurant Mezzanine at the Federal Mills.
As you all know this is a fantastic event giving members the opportunity to relax and unwind with their peers and celebrate the end of another year.
Date & Time: Friday 24th November 2023 at 6.00pm
Dress code: Cocktail.
Dinner: This year's Dinner will consist of a three course meal with a limited bar tab for drinks. Please ensure you enter any dietary requirements when purchasing your tickets.
Venue: 1915 is located at the Federal Mills at PH2 / 33 Mackey Street, North Geelong . An iconic window façade is the centerpiece for the split-level space with a ground floor and mezzanine.
The boiler house is at the centre of the historic Federal Woollen Mills which has undergone an award-winning renovation and provides an iconic window façade and industrial, exposed brick, and warm wood décor.
The Federal Woollen Mills was opened with great fanfare in 1915. The biggest industrial operation in Geelong at the time, the mills produced everything from military uniforms, to Qantas fabrics and fashions of the day. At its peak, the mills employed over 950 workers.

GLA Young Lawyers' Wine Tour

The Geelong Law Association's annual young lawyers wine tour returns for 2023! An event not to be missed, this year we will be touring (and tasting) the wonderful venues of Lethbridge Wines, Clyde Park and Rowsley Fault Vineyard.
Come along and enjoy some of the beautiful wines of our region, with ticket prices including bus travel, tastings at all three venues and lunch at Clyde Park.
A bus complete with seatbelts has been organised for the day so you can leave the car at home. The bus departs from the Geelong Law Courts at 10.30am, heading to our first stop and tasting at Lethbridge Wines. We then move on to lunch and our second tasting at Clyde Park, and finish with our third tasting at Rowsley Fault Vineyard.
The bus will then drop us back in Geelong at the Geelong Law Courts at approximately 5-5.30pm, for those wishing to continue on.

Date: Saturday, 28 October 2023
Time: Bus departing at 10.30am from the Geelong Law Courts and returning at approximately 5-5.30pm
Included: Wine tastings at three locations, lunch and bus
Tickets: $95 for GLA members, $115 for non-members
Although the ticket is inclusive of lunch and tastings, we recommend having some spending money on the day for wine or other beverage purchases.
Tickets are limited so book early to avoid missing out.

Location: Percy Baxter Theatre (Room: D2.193 Percy Baxter LT). Please enter from Gheringhap Street and refer to signage. Note this is the same venue as the 2022 Deakin Day.
This event gives members the opportunity to obtain their compulsory CPD points in one day for FREE, including the opportunity to network with other members. Hybrid attendance will not be available for this event.
