Please join us for the first GLA Wellbeing Walk and Run along the Barwon River!
What is it? Members are invited to walk or run a 5.8km loop along the Barwon River, starting and finishing at Barwon Edge, followed by a FREE coffee and light breakfast.
When? 6.45am on Thursday 24 September 2026.
Where? Start and end point is Barwon Edge at 40-70 Windsor Rd, Newtown VIC 3220.
Cost? FREE
Can I bring my children? Yes! We know it’s school holidays. We invite members to purchase food and drinks for their children on the day.
Can I bring pets? Well-behaved dogs on leads welcome (limited to one per person).
RSVP: 17 September 2026. The first 30 registrations get a FREE GLA hat! Please let us know your food order or dietary requirements in your RSVP. Please note that coffees do not need to be pre-ordered.
What to wear and bring?
Runners and active wear.
Water bottle.
Raincoat in the event of wet weather.
Mobility:
If you have limited mobility or the walk/run is not for you, please feel welcome to come along for conversations, breakfast and coffee.
Course:
Meeting point for briefing: Barwon Edge – Balyang Room.
Course start: Barwon River Walking Track near Barwon Edge.
Clockwise along the Barwon River to Princes Bridge (also known as Shannon Avenue Bridge).
Cross Princes Bridge.
Clockwise along the Barwon River to Queens Park Bridge.
Cross Queens Park Bridge.
Clockwise return along the Barwon River to Barwon Edge.
