The Geelong Law Association ('GLA') is an incorporated association for legal practitioners, law students and others associated with the law who live and/or work in the Greater Geelong region.

The GLA supports more than 300 members through social and networking events, as well as the cost-effective provision of local continuing professional development seminars.

The GLA enjoys a particularly close relationship with the Deakin University School of Law, and hosts regular events for young lawyers and law students as well as providing scholarships and prizes for Deakin students.

The GLA are also proudly sponsored by Stewart Title.

Dear Members, The current Committee of the Geelong Law Association is pleased to provide you with Notice of the GLA’s 2026 Annual General Meeting.  The details for the AGM are as follows: Date: Friday 24 April 2026 Time: 11:30am-1:30pm, with all members to be seated by 11:45am for address Location: Wharf Shed Geelong, 15 Eastern Beach Road Please RSVP by 5pm on 20 April 2026 by obtaining a free ticket to the event. Members will receive a meal & glass of wine, beer or soft drink. Further drinks are available at bar prices.  If any GLA members have any feedback or wish to raise any business ahead of the meeting for inclusion in the proposed agenda, please also feel free to get in touch with the Committee at lshandley@ggs.vic.edu.au (Laura Shandley, Secretary). Geelong Law Association: Fourth Annual Charity Golf Day

The GLA is excited to invite you to the fourth annual GLA Charity Golf Day! This year the proceeds will be going to support Hope Bereavement Care, a fantastic local  not-for-profit organisation offering free information, support and counselling to residents of the general Geelong region grieving the death of a family member or losing somebody to suicide:  https://www.bereavement.org.au/ The GLA Charity Golf Day will once again be held at the fantastic East Geelong Golf Course. Event details as follows: Date: Friday, 1 May 2026 Arrival and tee off: Players must arrive for registration at 1pm, with a shotgun start at 1.30pm Tickets (p/person): $50, with ticket sales closing COB 23 April 2026 Ticket prices include grazing boards and a limited bar tab.  This event is open to members and non-members. We welcome all to this charity event. The day's golf will be played over 9 holes, in 4 person ambrose teams. Whilst full teams are welcome, if you would like to participate and do not have a full team, players are encouraged to purchase a ticket and will then be placed in teams for the competition. The GLA Charity Golf Day is an inclusive event and golfers of all abilities (or none!) are welcome. Handicaps are not in play for this event. In addition to the major prize of best performing team, there will be prizes for best performing mixed team, longest drive competition (with both men and women competitions), and nearest the pin competition.
