August CPD – Security of Payment in Construction

Attached is your invitation to attend our August CPD by Michael Sharkey on the Security of Payment in Construction – Complying with the interim payments regime.

The Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act 2002 is a technical regime which requires strict compliance to enforce contractors’ rights to payment and strict timeframes for principals’ to protect their own interests in relation to payments. It is an interim payment regime that sits outside the contract and applies to all commercial construction projects and some domestic construction, depending on the nature of the owner. This presentation will explore the steps each party must follow to enforce or defend claims for payment.

The seminar will be delivered at the Geelong Library and Heritage Centre located at Level 5 (South), 51 Malop Street, Geelong. Please note the change of level from previous CPD events.

The cost for CPD sessions for members will be $20.00 which includes lunch.
